The I-270 Innovative Congestion Management Project proposes a two-pronged approach of roadway improvements and innovative technologies and techniques to maximize vehicular throughput, minimize vehicle travel times, and create a more predictable commuter trip along I-270 between I-70 and I-495.

Project Area

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has begun preliminary work for its MD 355 (Rockville Pike) Crossing Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) project in Bethesda. The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow between the west and east sides of MD 355 intersections at South Wood Road and South Drive.
